Even though Gold Coast is a relatively big city, it feels small and manageable. There is a lot of tourism during the summer months which results in a lot of job opportunities within the hospitality industry.

Gold Coast is located 70km south of Brisbane in Queensland. It is known as the Miami of Australia for its 57 kilometres of white sand beaches, hundreds of skyscrapers, dozens of theme parks and spectacular nightlife.

In the last 50 years Goldie has transformed itself and grown into a large city with a population of over 590,000 becoming the sixth largest city in Australia – and one of the most visited tourist destination in the country.

Gold Coast allows students to enjoy subtropical climate, with very hot and humid summers and mild, dry winters.

PROS
– A lot of tourism that results in job opportunities within the hospitality industry.
– Surfing all year.
– Variety of schools both English as VET, TAFE or Universities.
– Nice weather all year round.
– Good nightlife.

CONS
– During the winter (low season) less job opportunities are offered as tourism decreases.
– Very touristy in summer (crowded).
